Sobriety Calculator

Pick the day you quit. The calculator shows how long you have been sober, down to the second, and how far away the next milestone is. Everything runs in your browser; the date never leaves this page.

Enter a date above to start counting.

Milestones on the trail

These are the checkpoints the calculator counts toward. The named badges are the ones SoberQuest awards in the app, each one hand-illustrated. You can see the full milestone trail on the home page.

  • Day 1 One full day
  • Day 3 Compass badge
  • Day 7 One week
  • Day 14 Two weeks
  • Day 30 Traveler's Sword badge
  • Day 100 Phoenix Guardian badge
  • Day 365 Gem of Echoes badge
  • Day 730 Hopper badge
  • Day 1,825 Five years
  • Day 3,650 Aurora badge

How the count works

The calculator counts full 24-hour periods from the moment you entered. If you leave the time empty, it counts from midnight at the start of that day. Day totals update live, and your date is saved in this browser only, so the count is here when you come back. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

The early days are the hardest part

The number on this page grows slowest exactly when you need it most. If you are at the start, it helps to know what your body is doing: the first 72 hours follow a predictable arc, and so do the longer timelines for alcohol withdrawal and weed withdrawal . Knowing the shape of the curve makes the worst days feel less like proof that something is wrong.

Track it automatically

A web calculator forgets you the moment you close the tab. The SoberQuest app counts every sober second in the background, awards the badges on this list as you reach them, and puts craving tools one tap away for the moments the counter alone is not enough. It is free, works without an account, and your data stays on your phone.
